Congratulations to the Three Horseshoes, Alveley who will receive our Pub of the Season award for Spring 2020. Voting took place at the February 2020 meeting of the Bridgnorth CAMRA sub-branch. This village centre free house is known locally as “The Shoes” and is owned by Russ and Richard who are enthusiastic about serving quality real ales. The pub underwent a major refurbishment a couple of years ago with the opening of a new bar area and a separate restaurant room and is now proud to be at the heart of village life again, hosting many social events, having been closed for many months by the previous owners. Presentation of the award was scheduled for the March 2020 CAMRA meeting which was coincidentally to have taken place at the Shoes. The award was finally presented to pub owner Russ and manager Harry on 27th July 2021 at the first branch meeting after Covid regulations were eased!
